My interests centre on the development and maintenance of articular cartilage and other structures of the articulating joints of the body. In particular I have a long-standing interest in the structure and function of proteoglycans and am currently investigating the roles of these molecules as both structural and signalling mediators of chondrocyte development in the context of cartilage tissue engineering.
